Pneumatic Valve

Smart pneumatic valves designed for precise flow control, reliable actuation and efficient automation across industrial air and fluid control systems.

Pneumatic Valves for Irrigation & Fluid Control Systems

At Baccara, we manufacture brass heavy duty pneumatic valves for the heavy industries such as mining, rail and concrete batching plants and transport sectors. Available in different configurations (air, solenoid or mechanical operated), we also offer general purpose pneumatic valves for many other light duty industries.

Available in a selection of port sizes and types (ports/ways), they are suitable for air, inert gas and water applications. They can be used across a broad range of ambient temperatures and can handle operational pressures from -1 to 10 bar.

We stock a selection of Baccara and Mindman pneumatic valves with a range of operational configurations including aluminium and brass pilot valves, solenoid pneumatic valves and more.

All products are manufactured to the highest standards of quality and designed for heavy duty and specialised industrial applications.

In addition to our extensive Mindman stock, we also offer quick delivery on backorders for any of Mindman products.

If you can’t find the valve to suit your specific applications, then contact our expert technical team today. We can provide expert advice and recommend the right valve to suit your exact technical specifications.

We also offer express delivery Australia-wide and free shipping on online orders over $200 AUD within Australia.

Frequently Asked Questions

You need to know the function required (e.g., 5/2 to operate a double-acting cylinder), the actuation method (solenoid electrical, manual lever, or air-pilot), the required flow rate (Cv/Kv), and the port size.

“Pneumatic valve” is a broad term for any valve handling compressed air. A “directional control valve” is a specific category of pneumatic valve designed to direct the flow of air into different ports of a cylinder to make it extend or retract.

  • 2-way: Simple on/off flow of compressed air.
  • 3-way: Used for operating single-acting cylinders (where air pushes one way, and a spring returns it). It fills the cylinder and then exhausts the air out.
  • Universal: Can be piped in multiple ways to act as either a Normally Closed, Normally Open, or diverter valve.

You must match the male or female thread size and type (e.g., 1/4″ BSPT, BSPP, or NPT) to your valve or cylinder, and match the push-in receiver side to the exact Outer Diameter (OD) of your pneumatic tubing (e.g., 6mm, 8mm).

These are generally the same thing. “Push-in” specifically refers to the modern, most common style of fitting where you simply push the flexible tubing into the collar to lock it instantly without needing hose clamps.

Pneumatic push-in fittings are sized strictly by the Outer Diameter (OD) of the tubing. If your fitting says 8mm, you must use tubing that has exactly an 8mm OD.

“Pneumatic tube” is a general term. Polyurethane (PU) is the most common flexible pneumatic tube for standard factory machines. Nylon tube is much more rigid, less flexible, but handles higher pressures, higher temperatures, and harsher chemical environments.

You must ensure the pressure rating of both the tubing and the fittings comfortably exceeds the maximum output pressure of your air compressor (usually around 8 to 10 bar / 115-145 PSI for standard industrial setups).

Baccara offers a full range of fittings to build any circuit: Straights, 90-degree Elbows, T-pieces, Y-splitters, Plugs, Reducers, and Speed Controllers (which restrict exhaust air flow to slow down cylinder movement).

Yes, Baccara Australia can supply all necessary components—valves, cylinders, FRL units, fittings, and rolls of tubing—as a complete, ready-to-install pneumatic kit.
